Sportsbook

There is no slowing down the US sports betting market at this point, and operators continue to search for new markets to launch. It’s been a slow few months for the entire industry, but things quickly pick back up during the football season.

With that in mind, MaximBet was able to recently go live in the state of Indiana. Not to be outdone, PointsBet Sportsbook launched in Louisiana as it continues to become a sports betting leader in the United States.

DraftKings and FanDuel continue to be the clear leaders when it comes to online sports betting, but there is enough action to go around for other sites. Indiana is a sports betting market that is well established, and Louisiana is on its way to becoming a big market as well.

MaximBet Makes it Two

MaximBet is a name that you don’t hear much about in the US sports betting industry yet, but the company is trying to change that. After launching in Indiana, MaximBet now has market access in a second state, with Colorado being the first.

Now that Indiana is crossed off the list, MaximBet has already announced that it has plans to enter into three new markets as well. Legal sports betting is also legal in Ontario, and this operator has already gained market access there.

In order to become a leader in this space, MaximBet partnered with the Kambi Group to help power the online sportsbook. Kambi is a massive sports betting technology provider, and it should allow MaximBet to have one of the best apps in the industry.

This launch in Indiana was possible after MaximBet entered into a partnership with Caesars Entertainment. Through this deal, MaximBet was able to gain access into 10 different markets, but it’s going to take a measured and slow approach in launching in one state at a time.

PointsBet Launches but Loses Sponsorship

PointsBet Sportsbook is a company that is based out of Australia, but it has created a huge presence in the United States as well. The company quickly built up a US headquarters in Denver, Colorado, to help establish itself as a leader in the industry.

One strategy that was used by PointsBet was to partner with the NFL, including Sunday Night Football. BetMGM swooped in and took the sponsorship opportunity away from PointsBet, and PointsBet is also not an authorized sportsbook of the league any longer.

The bettors in the state of Louisiana were able to take advantage of the massive welcome offer that PointsBet is now famous for. PointsBet offers a pair of risk-free bets that are worth up to $2,000 and is available to all new customers.

The launch in the state of Louisiana came through an agreement with Penn National Gaming, and this partnership has been good to PointsBet. This operator is now live in 12 states throughout the U.S., and it has market access in other states as well.
