Tar Heels vs Cavaliers Prediction:
With week two of college football season in the rearview mirror, it’s time to turn our attention to another jammed-packed weekend of college football. On Saturday night, the North Carolina Tar Heels will host the Virginia Cavaliers in a battle of the ACC at Kenan Memorial Stadium.
The Virginia Cavaliers are 2-0 to kick off the season as they came away with a win over the Illinois Fighting Illini their last time out. Brennan Armstrong had quite the day against Illinois throwing for 405 yards with 5 touchdowns and one interception.
Jelani Woods was able to pick apart the Illini secondary as he finished with 5 catches for 122 yards and one touchdown. The Cavalier defense has looked terrific in their first two games only allowing 7 points on the season.

The Tar Heels turned things around their last time out coming away with a 59-17 win over the Georgia State Panthers. This contest was decided in the 3rd quarter as the Tar Heels scored 21 unanswered points pushing their margin way out.
This was a nice bounce back after their opening season loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies. North Carolina comes into this contest still ranked in the polls at No. 21. This was a team that was expected to be on top of the ACC by December but a slow start has this team trying to figure things out.
UNC quarterback Sam Howell leads the team with 208 passing yards on 17/32 passing. Howell has struggled as he has thrown only one touchdown to three interceptions. He has also carried the ball 13 times for 35 yards.

Tar Heels vs Cavaliers Prediction: Spread
The North Carolina Tar Heels are currently 9 point favorites to defeat the Virginia Cavaliers on their own home field. These two teams matchup pretty well against one another and this should be a great game from start to finish. The Tar Heels had a nice bounce-back win over Georgia State while the Cavaliers continued to roll beating the Fighting Illini with ease.
Sam Howell was projected to be one of the best quarterbacks in the country heading into this season. He struggled in the opener to Virginia Tech and he will be looking to round into form and quiet the critics.
Virginia gave Illinois all it could handle with a 42-14 win. The offense looked sharp firing for over 550 yards of total offense on the day. This team is just getting into the heart of their schedule as they have 3 more games against top 25 opponents following this contest.
Brennan Armstrong will look to continue his torrid pace this season as he has 7 touchdowns to one interception. UNC has really struggled on the defensive end so it could be another big day for the Cavalier quarterback.
The Tar Heels have struggled to find their footing and they need a big game to get control of their season but despite being on the road and with how good Armstrong has been it’s hard to pick against the Cavaliers in this game.
